Washington Capitol Group, LLC is an independent, privately held consulting firm. President and founder, Jim Moran, has been in the Consulting/financial services industry for over 39 years.
JAMES B. MORAN:
PERSONAL:
Jim Moran was born in the Bronx NY, and raised in Valley Cottage NY. Jim attended Albertus Magnus HS where he was First Team All County in Track, and a recipient of a New York State Regents Scholarship. He attended Siena College, where he played Division I Lacrosse, and majored in Political Science; receiving a B.A. degree in 1982.
PROFESSIONAL:
Jim Moran entered the Financial Services Industry in May of 1983 as a Financial Consultant. Jim spent most of his 39 year career at Merrill Lynch, Pierce Fenner and Smith with their “Private Client Group". Jim was also most notably employed at both Kidder, Peabody Inc., and PaineWebber Inc. during his tenure in the business. While at Merrill Lynch, Jim attained the designation of "Certified Financial Manager", was an "International Financial Consultant" and a member of Merrill Lynch's elite national "Financial Consultant Network".
WEALTH MANAGEMENT:
On a "Private Client" side, Jim uses his Registered Investment Advisor, Senior Financial Consultant and Certified Financial Manager experience to bring value to his individual clients. Jim believes in an asset allocation approach to money management, and a full consultative process. He provides services ranging from simple execution of orders, to complete sit down meetings with full consultation and fact finding.
As previously mentioned, Jim has also achieved the designation of Registered Investment Advisor, and is also a Registered Principal. FINRA Series 7, 63, 65 and 24 designations have all been achieved, and Jim is also a licensed Life Insurance Agent.
In addition to providing Investment related services, for both publicly traded and private companies as well as organizations; Jim has extensive Labor Union and School District experience, and provides Wealth Management services for individual clientele. Jim's experience with high net worth clients in terms of investment advice, estate planning, retirement planning and asset allocation make him well versed in dealing with his everyday clientele.
CORPORATE BENEFIT AND ORGANIZATIONAL EXPERIENCE:
One of Jim's area of expertise centers on his experience in the field of Corporate Executive Services. Specifically, Jim is well versed in the origination, implementation, administration and operation of Corporate Stock Plans; including both Corporate Stock Option Plans, and Employee Stock Purchase Plans. He has hands on experience with Corporate Stock Buyback Programs, SEC Rule 10b-18, as well as Investment Banking experience. He has been instrumental in a number of plans with multiple publicly traded companies. Experience with Corporate and Private Cash Management, Sarbanes-Oxley, Section 16 personnel, Rule 144(k) and Rule 701 should be noted.
CONSULTATION:
WCG provides consultation to Multi-National Organziations, Government Agencies, Public and Private Corporations as well as Individual Clientele. WCG is dedicated to helping leaders solve critical strategic issues, accelerate growth and increase organizational effectiveness. Through advanced communication, WCG can facilitate formulation, planning and execution of stated objectives/concerns; while maintaining and improving the implementation through our Strategic Alliance approach.
COMMUNITY:
Jim and his wife Francine currently reside in Basking Ridge, NJ; and Naples, Florida.
In the past, Jim has coached youth lacrosse, and was a member of the Advancement Committee of "Children's Specialized Hospital" in Mountainside NJ; and was on the Board of Directors of "The NYC After School All Stars", an after school program for inner city children in New York City founded by Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger. In addition to being a member of the Board of Directors, Jim was also a member of the Executive Committee of the board; and assisted in the implementation, build out and successful growth of the NYC Inner City Games/ASAS program currently enjoying success in NYC today.
